ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES TO AN MPHIL PROGRAMME IN HAEMATOLOGY, 2016/2017 ACADEMIC YEAR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into an MPhil programme in Haematology at the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, College of Health Sciences.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess a First or Second Class (Upper Division) degrees in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or Biomedical Laboratory Science or similar qualifications from a recognized university. Holders of MBChB or MBBS may also be considered.

Candidates with first degrees in Biochemistry or Biological Sciences, who do not have the requisite background in haematology will have to undertake a bridging course before finally signing on to the MPhil programme.

Holders of Second Class (Lower Division) degrees must have at least two years relevant post qualification working experience in the relevant area.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

The MPhil Programme (Full-Time) is of twenty-four (24) months and (Part Time) thirty-six (36) months duration.

MODE OF APPLICATION

Sale of E-Vouchers/Forms for admission shall commence on Thursday, 18th August, 2016

  1. Candidates must purchase an eVoucher by paying an application fee of Two Hundred and Twenty Ghana Cedis (GH¢220.00) at the following banks: GCB, Ecobank and Unibank.
  2. Upon payment of the application fee, candidates will receive an eVoucher containing an application number and PIN that will grant access to the online admissions portal.
  3. Candidates should then proceed to the admissions portal and begin the application process.
  4. Once the process has been completed, candidates must print 3 copies of the completed application form from the portal and submit them (by registered mail) to the Secretary, School of Graduate Studies along with all relevant documents (photocopies of certificates, recommendation letters and transcript. The transcript is for those attending KNUST for the first time.
