REGULAR PROGRAMMES:

SANDWICH PROGRAMMES:

  • HND in Medical Laboratory Technology- 20 WEEKS
  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology- 20 WEEKS

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMMES

REGULAR PROGRAMMES:

DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY-2 YEARS

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

1/ SSSCE, WASSCE or Equivalent

Core subjects and minimum grades: Credits (WASSCE A1-E8/ SSSCE A-D) in three (3) subjects, English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science.

Elective subjects and minimum grades: At least passes in any three (3) elective subjects .

(Pass: SSSCE: A-E, WASSCE: A1-E8)

WASSCE: An aggregate score of Forty Two (42) or better.

SSSCE: An aggregate score of Twenty Four (24) or better.

2/ Mature Applicant

Age: 25 – 35

SSSCE, WASSCE or Equivalent

Passes in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) and three (3) elective subjects

Must have at least two years working experience in medical laboratory

Must pass an Entrance Examination

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

Two Years (24 Months) – Four Semesters

HND IN MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY- 3 YEARS

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

1// SSSCE, WASSCE or Equivalent

Core Subjects and minimum grades: Credits (WASSCE A1-C6/SSSCE A-D) in three (3) subjects: English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science.

Elective subjects and minimum grades: Credits (WASSCE A1-C6/SSSCE A-D) in three (3) elective science subjects (Elective Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry)

WASSCE: An aggregate score of Thirty-six (36) or better

SSSCE: An aggregate score of Twenty-four (24) or better

2/ Mature Applicants

Age : 25 – 35

Passes in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) in SSSCE, WASSCE or Equivalent.

3/ Holder of Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology

Holder of Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology shall be given one Year exemption and shall start from level 200

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

Three Year (6 Semesters)

RESIDENTIAL STATUS

The MLTC programme is purely RESIDENTIAL ONLY and no NON-RESIDENTIAL status.

 

SANDWICH PROGRAMMES:

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Medical Laboratory Technology (20 WEEKS)

  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (20 WEEKS) 

REASONS FOR MEDICAL LABORATORY WORKERS TO OPT FOR SANDWICH PROGRAMMES

  1. To bring academic training to the doorsteps of medical laboratory workers.
  2. Applicants can be schooling whilst working simultaneously.
  • You can maintain your job for two consecutive years of schooling.
  1. Most of the academic assessments are on the job training.
  2. Ability to self-finance your education whilst working.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The programme duration for both certificate and diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology shall be two (2) years comprising 10 weeks of intensive campus course work every year. The 10 weeks is inclusive of end of sandwich course examination.

Students will undertake supervised practical attachment at their own hospital facility.

PERIOD OF TRAINING

The period of training is scheduled between June and September every year beginning in 2017. Admission forms can be obtained from Admissions Office or online.

SANDWICH MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY (MLDP) – HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND)

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Holder of Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology

Holder of Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from institutions accredited by Allied Health Professions Council.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

Two Years/ Two Sandwich Courses

RESIDENTIAL STATUS

The sandwich programme is very intensive and is purely RESIDENTIAL ONLY.

SANDWICH MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY (MLCP) – CERTIFICATE

The Sandwich programme for Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLTCP) is PURELY for applicants with working experience or bench practice in Medical Laboratory Technology.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Applicant must have at least two years working experience in medical laboratory technology and must pass an Practical Entrance Examination.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

Two Years/Two Sandwich Courses

RESIDENTIAL STATUS

The sandwich programme is very intensive and is purely RESIDENTIAL ONLY

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES

DIPLOMA IN DISPENSING TECHNOLOGY- 2YEARS

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

1/ SSSCE, WASSCE or Equivalent

Core subjects and minimum grades: Credits (WASSCE A1-E8/ SSSCE A-E) in three (3) subjects, English, Mathematics and Integrated Science.

Elective subjects and minimum grades: At least passes in three (2) elective subjects .

(Pass: SSSCE: A-E, WASSCE: A1-E8)

WASSCE: An aggregate score of Forty Two (42) or better.

SSSCE: An aggregate score of Twenty Seven (27) or better.

2/ Mature Applicant

Age: 25 – 35

2 Years Working Experience and at least  MCA from Pharmacy Council

SSSCE, WASSCE or Equivalent

Passes in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) and three (2) elective subjects

Must have at least two years working experience in medical laboratory

Must pass an Entrance Examination

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

Two Years (24 Months) – Four Semesters

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:  

A// DIPLOMA IN REGISTERED GENERAL NURSING (RGN)  AND DIPLOMA IN REGISTERED MIDWIFERY (RM)

  1. General Admission requirement

Students must meet the minimum requirements as determined by Nurses and Midwives Council of Ghana and also satisfy  the institution. The following entry qualification as set out by the Ministry of Health applies.

Age limit:18-35 years

Sex: Females only.

For WASSCE candidate

An aggregate Score of thirty-six (36) or better comprising (A1-C6) in three (3) core Subjects i.e. English, Mathematics and Integrated Science and in three (3) Elective Subjects (A1-C6) in any of the followingprogrammes itemized below:

For SSSCE Candidate

An aggregate Score of twenty-four (24) or better comprising (A-D) in three (3) core subjects i.e.  English, Mathematics and Integrated Science and in three (3) Elective Subjects (A-D) in any of the following programmes itemized below:

NB: A COMBINATION of SSSCE and WASSCE results are not acceptable From 2012/2013 academic year.
